Dr. Mouli Madhab Ghatak's Medical Rehabilitation Centre joyously marked its 24th anniversary with the organization of the annual MRC-CON 2024 on March 15, 2024. Commencing with an engaging workshop on "Foot-Ankle Orthosis" within the institution premises, facilitated by esteemed resource persons Mr. Abhishek Tripathy, MPO, Lecturer from NILD, Kolkata, and Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar, MPO, RALFC, NRSMC&H, Kolkata.
The inauguration of the workshop was graced by Dr. B.K. Choudhary, retired Professor of PM&R, and Prof. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, Honorary Secretary, IAPMR & Head of the Department, PM&R, AIIMS-Patna.
This event garnered participation from Physiatrists, PM&R postgraduates, and BPT students from the city. Subsequently, the scientific sessions of the conference commenced after lunch.
The inauguration and lamp lighting ceremony were dignified with the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Sudipta Roy, MLA & President, WBMC, alongside esteemed figures such as Prof. Pandey, Prof. Ramesh Bhattacharya, Dr. B.K. Choudhury, Prof. Swapan Kumar Mishra, and Dr. Jayanta Saha, each extending warm greetings to the delegates and sharing insightful remarks about MRC while wishing success for the conference.
The conference featured sessions on various topics including Rheumatic Diseases, Neurorehabilitation, Pain Management, and AI & VR in Rehabilitation, with distinguished speakers delivering exemplary lectures and eminent chairpersons ensuring smooth proceedings.
A notable moment was the Special Guest Lecture by Prof. Pandey, discussing the future prospects of non-governmental rehabilitation ventures in India, portraying a promising landscape for the advancement of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Madhushree Sengupta from R. N. Tagore Hospital delivered an outstanding lecture on AI & VR in rehab, earning widespread acclaim.
Additionally, Dr. Gautam Das, Chief Consultant of Daradiya Pain Clinic, presented cutting-edge evidence on Cryoablation procedures for chronic neuropathic pain, greatly appreciated by the delegates. Other speakers also dazzled with their erudite presentations.
In the valedictory session, Dr. M.M. Ghatak expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and delegates present, announcing forthcoming programs in the silver jubilee year and extending invitations to all attendees.
The day culminated with a celebratory dinner for all participants, fostering camaraderie and collaboration.
